Well friends, we’ve been busy.
And not just “spring cleaning” busy—we’re talking fresh paint, all-new furniture, bunk beds built like a dream, and a theater room that’ll make you want to cancel your Dollywood plans. (Okay, maybe not cancel, but you’ll definitely think about it.) After months of sawdust, swatches, and second guesses over throw pillows, The Lazy Bear Escape has officially reopened—and she’s better than ever.
From Cozy Cabin to Large Family Gathering Hub
When we first opened our doors, our sweet little cabin comfortably slept six. But let’s be honest—when you’re headed to the Smokies, you want to bring the whole crew. So we dreamed bigger.

Now? The Lazy Bear sleeps twelve. That’s right—thanks to brand-new, built-in twin-over-queen bunk beds and two additional private bedrooms, you can bring grandparents, cousins, or your favorite family friends and still have space to breathe. These aren’t your average squeaky bunks either—they’re custom-built, sturdy as can be, and downright beautiful. This Gatlinburg cabin should now turn the heads of larger families!
🏡 A Whole New Look Inside
Step into the living room and you’ll find a cozy yet modern refresh. We replaced every piece of furniture in the main living area—yes, every piece—with stylish new sofas, armchairs, and dining room accents that still feel like a warm hug after a day in the mountains. The stone fireplace remains the heart of the room, but everything around it got a serious upgrade in comfort and charm.
🎮 Movie Nights Just Got a Lot More Epic

Let’s talk about that new 10-seat theatre room. Plush reclining chairs. LED lighting. Wall-to-wall wood. And a screen that’ll make your kids say, “Wait—we have to go to a movie theater?” Cozy up with a fuzzy blanket, queue up a family favorite, and you’ve got yourself a perfect night in.
But we didn’t stop there…
🕹️ Game On: Air Hockey, Arcade, and Shuffleboard Galore
You’ll also find a brand new air hockey table (warning: it gets competitive fast), along with the shuffleboard, a poker table, and a full-size retro arcade game to fuel your nostalgic side. If you’re looking for a cabin that keeps everyone—kids, teens, adults—happy and entertained, this is it.
🌄 Fresh Paint, Fresh Vibes, Same Stunning Views
We gave the porch and deck a facelift with a fresh coat of paint, creating a welcoming space to sip your morning coffee or unwind by the fire pit as the sun sets behind the hills. Add a blanket, and it’s downright magical.
📍 Location, Location, Bearcation
If you’ve stayed with us before, you already know—we’re less than a mile from the Gatlinburg strip. That means pancakes at Flapjacks, ribs at Bones BBQ, mini golf, candy shops, the aquarium, and all the attractions you love are just around the corner.
(And if you haven’t checked out our Bear Reviews, you’ll find our honest takes on all the best eats and experiences around town.)
👟 Come See What Everyone’s Talking About
This has been a true labor of love. We wanted to create a space that felt like a retreat, a celebration, a home base for memory-making. And now that the grand reopening is finally here, we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
Whether you’re coming for a family reunion, a couples’ trip, or just a quiet escape with a few friends, we hope you’ll fall in love with the new Lazy Bear Escape just like we have.
Check out the fresh photos, explore the new spaces, and grab your dates before they’re gone.
See you soon in the Smokies
